Who we are

Maple Signal is a directory of independent Canadian media channels. This policy explains what we collect when you visit, sign in, or submit a channel.

YouTube API Services

This site uses YouTube API Services to show channel information and videos. Videos play in YouTube's embedded player, and YouTube may collect data when you load or play them. Google's handling of that data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. By watching videos here you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.

We do not access anyone's YouTube account. We only read public channel and video information, and we keep it for no more than an hour before refreshing it.

What we collect

Advertising and cookies

Visitors who aren't paying subscribers see ads served by third parties, including Google AdSense. These partners may place or read cookies and similar technology on your device to show and measure ads. You can manage personalised ads in your Google ad settings.

How we use and share information

We use your information to run your account, review submissions, and contact you about them. We don't sell personal information. Our service providers (hosting, database and sign-in) process data on our behalf.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can withdraw a submission at any time before it's approved. To delete your account and everything stored about you, email privacy@example.com. We delete it within 7 days. Deleting data here doesn't affect anything stored by YouTube or Google.

Your rights in Canada

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact us at privacy@example.com.
